We are seeking a dynamic Major Projects Sales Representative - Building Automation to drive sales of our advanced building management systems (BMS), HVAC controls, and energy efficiency solutions across OH, PA, WV, MD, VA, NC, and SC. This hybrid role, based in the United States, offers the flexibility to work remotely while engaging with key stakeholders in the construction and engineering sectors. You will partner with general contractors, mechanical/electrical contractors, and consulting engineers to secure major projects valued at $1M+, positioning Honeywell as the partner of choice for sustainable, intelligent buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect, qualify, and close sales opportunities with large-scale general contractors and M/E contractors on building automation projects.
  • Conduct technical demonstrations and presentations showcasing Honeywell's Niagara Framework, WEBs controllers, and integrated BMS solutions.
  • Collaborate with consulting engineers to influence specification development and ensure Honeywell products are included in RFPs and design bids.
  • Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline using CRM tools like Salesforce, targeting $5M+ in annual bookings.
  • Negotiate complex contracts, pricing, and terms while maximizing profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide market intelligence on competitor activities, industry trends, and customer needs to inform product roadmap decisions.
  • Build long-term relationships through exceptional post-sale support and upselling opportunities for service contracts.

  • Demonstrated track record of closing major projects ($1M+) with contractors and engineers (experience)
  • Familiarity with construction industry processes, including bidding, RFPs, and specifications (experience)
  • Proficiency in CRM software such as Salesforce or equivalent (experience)
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the territory (OH, PA, WV, MD, VA, NC, SC) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or Engineering (experience)
  • BACnet, Niagara, or ASHRAE certifications (experience)
  • Experience selling to general contractors in the Eastern U.S. region (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue major project leads through networking with general contractors, M/E contractors, and consulting engineers
  • Deliver compelling technical sales presentations and ROI analyses for Honeywell building automation solutions
  • Influence engineering specifications to include Honeywell products in design phases of commercial and industrial projects
  • Manage full sales cycle from opportunity qualification to contract negotiation and handover to implementation teams
  • Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to develop winning sales strategies and pricing proposals
  • Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and reporting in Salesforce to meet quarterly and annual targets
  • Foster customer loyalty by providing ongoing support and identifying expansion opportunities for service agreements
