Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and simulating electrical systems for aerospace and industrial applications using tools like MATLAB/Simulink and Altium Designer.
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation of circuit boards and power electronics under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Analyze system performance data to identify improvements in efficiency, reliability, and compliance with industry standards such as IPC and MIL-STD.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and software developers, to integrate electrical subsystems into larger product architectures.
  • Document technical findings, prepare reports, and present results during team reviews and project milestones.
  • Participate in design reviews, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to resolve electrical engineering challenges.

  • Current enrollment in a Master's program in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field (experience)
  • Completed Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with strong academic performance (GPA 3.0+) (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with electrical engineering coursework, labs, or personal projects involving circuits, embedded systems, or power electronics (experience)
  • Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as MATLAB, LTSpice, or PCB design software (experience)
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada (or eligibility for internship visa) (experience)
  • Availability for hybrid work in Mississauga, ON for 6-12 months (co-op or summer term) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or co-op experience in electrical engineering within aerospace, automation, or manufacturing (experience)
  • Knowledge of embedded systems programming (C/C++) or FPGA design (experience)
  • Relevant certifications such as IPC-A-610 or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and simulate analog/digital circuits and power distribution systems for industrial and aerospace applications
  • Prototype and test electrical hardware, including PCB assembly, soldering, and functional verification
  • Perform data analysis and modeling to optimize system performance, EMC compliance, and thermal management
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical designs into full product systems
  • Conduct failure analysis, root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions
  • Document designs, test results, and engineering changes using Honeywell's PLM tools
  • Support senior engineers in preparing for design reviews and customer demonstrations
