Key Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport goods safely and efficiently.
  • Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and inspect for damage or discrepancies.
  • Store materials in designated locations using optimal organizational methods, including FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
  • Pick, pack, and stage materials for production or outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through daily cycle counts, data entry in warehouse management systems (WMS), and reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including OSHA standards, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives like 5S and Lean manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and shipping, to resolve material issues promptly.

Summary

As a Material Handler - Level 1 here at Honeywell, you will play a vital role in supporting our operations by ensuring the efficient handling and movement of materials within our facility. Your responsibilities will include receiving, storing, and distributing materials, as well as maintaining accurate inventory records. You will report directly to our Warehouse Supervisor and you’ll work out of our El Paso, TX location on an On-site work schedule.

  • Reliable transportation to work on-site in El Paso, TX (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field (experience)
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) (experience)
  • OSHA safety certification or hazardous materials handling training (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate material handling equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks to move inventory throughout the facility
  • Receive and inspect inbound shipments, documenting quantities, conditions, and any discrepancies for resolution
  • Organize and store materials in racking systems, adhering to inventory control procedures and space optimization
  • Fulfill picking lists accurately for production kitting and outbound orders, preparing shipments for carriers
  • Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventories to ensure 99%+ accuracy in stock records
  • Utilize RF scanners and WMS software to update inventory transactions in real-time
  • Identify and report safety hazards, participating in daily housekeeping and 5S activities
