As a Mechanical Design Engineering Manager, you will lead a high-performing team in designing cutting-edge mechanical systems for aerospace, energy, and industrial applications, driving innovation in sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of complex mechanical systems, including CAD modeling, finite element analysis (FEA), and prototyping for industrial and aerospace products.
  • Manage a team of 8-12 mechanical design engineers, providing mentorship, performance evaluations, and career development to foster technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Drive innovation in sustainable technologies, such as lightweight materials and energy-efficient designs, aligning with Honeywell's net-zero carbon goals.
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and risk management, delivering projects on schedule while adhering to industry standards like ASME and ISO.
  • Conduct design reviews, failure mode analysis (FMEA), and root cause investigations to enhance product robustness and safety.
  • Interface with suppliers and stakeholders to integrate advanced manufacturing techniques, such as additive manufacturing and CNC machining.

  • Proven track record of managing engineering teams in industrial technology, aerospace, or energy sectors (experience)
  • Expertise in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, FEA) (experience)
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes (experience)
  • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and regulatory standards (ASME, ISO 9001) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or MBA (experience)
  • Professional certifications such as PE (Professional Engineer) or Six Sigma Black Belt (experience)
  • Experience in sustainable design practices or net-zero carbon initiatives (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design and development of mechanical components and assemblies using advanced CAD and simulation tools
  • Mentor and manage a team of mechanical engineers, setting goals, conducting reviews, and driving professional development
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical designs into larger systems, ensuring seamless functionality
  • Conduct technical reviews, FMEA, and tolerance stack-up analyses to mitigate risks and optimize performance
  • Manage project deliverables, budgets, and timelines while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
