Key Responsibilities

  • Design, model, and analyze mechanical components and assemblies using advanced CAD software, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ASME and ISO.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and CFD simulations to validate designs for structural integrity, thermal performance, and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality assurance, and systems engineering to integrate designs into production processes.
  • Develop and maintain detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation using tools like Siemens NX or SolidWorks.
  • Lead design reviews, prototype testing, and iterative improvements based on test data and customer feedback.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for design-related issues in production or field applications.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the mechanical design team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution (experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or industrial manufacturing sectors (experience)
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Siemens NX, SolidWorks, or Creo (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with FEA tools like ANSYS or NASTRAN for structural and thermal analysis (experience)
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) per ASME Y14.5 standards (experience)
  • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA) principles (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (experience)
  • Professional certification such as Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) or Six Sigma Green Belt (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100) or working in a regulated industry (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex mechanical components and subsystems for aerospace and industrial applications using parametric 3D modeling techniques
  • Conduct detailed simulations including static, dynamic, thermal, and vibration analysis to ensure design robustness and performance
  • Create and manage engineering documentation, including 2D drawings, exploded views, and Bills of Materials compliant with configuration management processes
  • Lead design verification through prototyping, testing, and validation, iterating based on empirical data and failure mode analysis
  • Collaborate with supply chain and manufacturing teams to optimize designs for cost, weight reduction, and production scalability
  • Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews, providing technical expertise and risk assessments
  • Drive innovation by exploring advanced materials, additive manufacturing, and topology optimization for next-generation products
