Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using CAD tools like Creo or SolidWorks, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ASME and ISO.
  • Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to validate designs for stress, thermal, and vibration performance.
  • Lead design reviews, prototype development, and testing phases, iterating based on test data and customer feedback.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, manufacturing, and quality assurance to integrate designs into production-ready solutions.
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost reduction, and sustainability, incorporating DFMEA and tolerance analysis.
  • Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Document designs, generate technical reports, and mentor junior engineers on best practices.

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS) (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and design validation processes (experience)
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, material science, and manufacturing processes (experience)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (experience)
  • ASME GD&T certification or Six Sigma Green Belt (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100) or additive manufacturing (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical components and assemblies using advanced CAD tools
  • Conduct structural, thermal, and dynamic analyses using FEA/CFD to ensure design robustness
  • Lead design verification testing, including fixture design and data analysis for performance optimization
  • Collaborate with supply chain and manufacturing teams to enhance design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA)
  • Perform failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and risk assessments to mitigate potential issues
  • Generate comprehensive technical documentation, BOMs, and engineering change orders
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to innovation initiatives for product roadmap development
