Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software, ensuring compliance with aerospace and industrial standards such as ASME Y14.5 and ISO 2768.
  • Perform detailed finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to validate designs for stress, thermal, and vibration performance.
  • Lead design reviews, prototype development, and testing phases, iterating based on test data and failure analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems engineers, manufacturing, and quality assurance to integrate designs into production-ready solutions.
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost reduction, and sustainability, utilizing DFMEA and DFA methodologies.
  • Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma tools.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical documentation and patent filings.

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or industrial sectors (experience)
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, or CATIA (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with FEA tools like ANSYS or NX Nastran (experience)
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack-up analysis (experience)
  • Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) and prototyping processes (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (experience)
  • Professional certification such as Six Sigma Green Belt or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (experience)
  • Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) and composite materials (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical components and assemblies using advanced CAD tools
  • Conduct structural, thermal, and modal analysis using FEA and CFD software to ensure design integrity
  • Lead design verification through prototyping, testing, and validation against performance specifications
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to optimize designs for cost, weight, and producibility
  • Perform tolerance analysis and GD&T application to achieve precise fit and function
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments (FMEA), and corrective action implementation
  • Document designs, generate reports, and support regulatory compliance for aerospace and industrial applications
