Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex mechanical components and assemblies using advanced CAD tools like SolidWorks or Creo.
  • Perform detailed engineering analysis, including tolerance stack-ups, FEA simulations, and kinematic studies to validate designs.
  • Lead design reviews and prototyping efforts to iterate on solutions for manufacturability and cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless transition from design to production.
  • Conduct failure mode analysis (FMEA) and risk assessments to enhance product reliability under extreme conditions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in design processes.
  • Support testing, validation, and certification of mechanical systems to meet industry standards such as AS9100.

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or NX (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical prototyping, testing, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) (experience)
  • Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and mechanical analysis tools (experience)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance if required for specific projects (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (experience)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace standards (e.g., DO-160, MIL-STD) and finite element analysis (FEA) software like ANSYS (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop innovative mechanical solutions for complex systems using CAD and simulation tools
  • Conduct detailed stress, thermal, and vibration analyses to ensure design robustness and compliance
  • Lead design verification testing, including fixture development and data analysis for product validation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with electrical and software components
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost reduction, and supply chain feasibility through DFMA principles
  • Document designs, generate engineering drawings, and maintain BOMs in PLM systems like Teamcenter
  • Drive root cause analysis for design issues and implement corrective actions to improve reliability
