Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using CAD tools like Creo or SolidWorks, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ASME Y14.5 and ISO 2768.
  • Conduct value engineering analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality, targeting 10-20% reductions in material and production costs.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up, FEA simulations, and DFMEA to validate designs for reliability and performance under real-world conditions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs into full product architectures, supporting prototype builds and pilot production.
  • Lead design reviews, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including BOMs, drawings, and engineering change orders (ECOs).

You will report directly to our Mech Design Eng Manager and you’ll work out of our Brno, Czechia location on a Hybrid work schedule.

  • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA) principles (experience)
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and mechanical tolerances (experience)
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 10% for supplier and customer engagements (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Value Engineering (experience)
  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (experience)
  • Experience in aerospace or industrial automation industries (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop advanced mechanical systems and components optimized for performance, cost, and reliability using CAD and simulation tools
  • Lead value engineering projects to reduce product costs through material substitution, design simplification, and process improvements
  • Conduct finite element analysis (FEA), kinematic simulations, and tolerance studies to ensure design robustness
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to transition designs from concept to production
  • Perform failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and root cause investigations to enhance product durability
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation compliant with industry standards
  • Mentor junior engineers and participate in design reviews to foster innovation and best practices
