Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Level II NDT inspections using ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), magnetic particle testing (MT), liquid penetrant testing (PT), and eddy current testing (ET) on metallic and composite materials.
  • Interpret test results, document findings in detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions to maintain compliance with ASME, ASTM, and FAA standards.
  • Calibrate and maintain NDT equipment, ensuring operational readiness and traceability for audits.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve defects and improve process controls.
  • Train junior technicians and conduct peer reviews to uphold Honeywell's safety and quality protocols.
  • Execute shift handovers, participate in root cause analysis, and support continuous improvement initiatives like Six Sigma projects.

Summary

  • Proficiency in interpreting NDT standards such as NAS 410, EN 4179, or equivalent (experience)
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications (experience)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols (experience)
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required due to ITAR compliance (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in NDT, Materials Science, or related field (experience)
  • NAS 410 or ASNT Level II certifications in 3+ methods (experience)
  • Experience with automated NDT systems or phased array ultrasonics (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct precise Level II NDT inspections using multiple methods to identify defects in aerospace components like turbine blades, forgings, and weldments
  • Prepare comprehensive inspection reports, including NDT data analysis and disposition recommendations for quality assurance
  • Perform equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and verification per ISO 17025 standards
  • Identify and troubleshoot non-conformances, collaborating with cross-functional teams on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Support production schedules by prioritizing inspections during 2nd/3rd shifts and minimizing downtime
  • Participate in internal audits, customer source inspections, and Honeywell quality system reviews
  • Mentor entry-level technicians and contribute to process improvements using lean manufacturing principles
