Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, piping isometric drawings, and specifications to plan and execute precise pipe installations and modifications.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install piping systems using materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC, and exotic alloys for process, hydraulic, and pneumatic applications.
  • Perform pipe bending, threading, welding preparation, and rigging using tools like pipe threaders, benders, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Conduct pressure testing, hydrostatic testing, and leak detection on piping systems to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair piping systems, identifying issues such as corrosion, blockages, or mechanical failures in industrial settings.
  • Collaborate with engineers, welders, and maintenance teams to support shutdowns, turnarounds, and new construction projects.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to OSHA regulations, Honeywell safety protocols, and lockout/tagout procedures.

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, P&IDs, and piping schematics (experience)
  • Experience with pipe fabrication, installation, and testing using hand and power tools (experience)
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check (experience)
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Journeyman Pipefitter certification or UA membership (experience)
  • Experience in aerospace or high-pressure steam/gas systems (experience)
  • ASME B31.3 piping code knowledge and welding qualifications (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Layout, measure, and fabricate piping systems according to detailed engineering drawings and specifications
  • Install and align pipes, valves, flanges, and fittings using threading, grooving, socket welding, and butt welding techniques
  • Perform rigorous testing including hydrostatic, pneumatic, and NDT methods to verify system integrity
  • Diagnose and resolve piping malfunctions, corrosion issues, and flow restrictions in operational plants
  • Support maintenance turnarounds by dismantling, repairing, and reinstalling piping components efficiently
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project completion and minimal downtime
  • Document all work activities, maintain inventory of piping materials, and update system records
