Job Description

Praktikant/in (m/w/d) für eine Abschlussarbeit im Bereich Elektrotechnik / RF Messtechnik

Location: International (On-site)

Overview

Honeywell is a Fortune 100 company and a global leader in innovative solutions for aerospace, building technologies, performance materials, and safety & productivity. We are seeking a motivated Praktikant/in (m/w/d) for a thesis project in Electrical Engineering with a focus on RF Measurement Technology. This is an exceptional opportunity for a final-year student to contribute to cutting-edge RF systems used in aerospace and industrial applications. Working on-site at one of our international facilities, you will collaborate with world-class engineers on real-world challenges, gaining hands-on experience that directly impacts Honeywell's industry-leading products. This internship combines academic research with practical application, offering mentorship from senior RF experts and access to state-of-the-art labs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct precise RF measurements using vector network analyzers (VNAs), spectrum analyzers, and signal generators to characterize high-frequency components and systems.
  • Develop and validate measurement setups for RF signal integrity, antenna performance, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) in aerospace environments.
  • Analyze measurement data using tools like MATLAB or Python to model RF propagation, noise figures, and insertion losses, contributing to your master's thesis.
  • Simulate RF circuits with software such as Keysight ADS or Ansys HFSS to predict performance and optimize designs prior to physical testing.
  • Document findings in technical reports and present results to cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with project milestones.
  • Support prototyping and troubleshooting of RF subsystems, identifying root causes of discrepancies between simulations and measurements.
  • Collaborate with global teams to integrate RF measurement results into broader system designs, adhering to industry standards like DO-160 for avionics.

What Makes This Role Exciting

Join Honeywell to work on technologies that power next-generation aircraft communication systems and industrial IoT sensors. You'll tackle complex RF challenges in a supportive environment with direct exposure to innovation at a Fortune 100 leader. Expect professional growth through expert guidance, access to advanced tools, and the chance to publish your thesis work. This role offers invaluable experience for launching a career in RF engineering, with potential for future opportunities at Honeywell. Be part of a team driving sustainable aviation and smart manufacturing solutions that shape the future.
