Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements definition and architectural design to verification, validation, and certification for complex multi-domain systems.
  • Develop and maintain system models using tools like SysML, MATLAB/Simulink, or Cameo Systems Modeler to simulate performance and predict behaviors.
  • Conduct trade studies, risk assessments, and failure modes analysis (FMEA) to optimize system reliability and compliance with standards such as DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, and ISO 26262.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, and test engineers to resolve integration issues and ensure end-to-end system performance.
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead design reviews, providing technical guidance on best practices in model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
  • Interface with customers and stakeholders to gather requirements, present solutions, and support certification processes with regulatory bodies like FAA or EASA.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, incorporating emerging technologies like AI/ML for predictive maintenance and digital twins.

  • 8+ years of experience in systems engineering for complex aerospace, defense, or industrial systems (experience)
  • Proven track record in requirements management, system architecture, and verification & validation (V&V) processes (experience)
  • Experience with safety-critical systems and compliance to standards such as DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, or ARP4761 (experience)
  • Proficiency in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools like Cameo, Rhapsody, or MATLAB/Simulink (experience)
  • Strong project leadership experience, including cross-functional team coordination (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Systems Engineering or related field (experience)
  • INCOSE certification (e.g., CSEP or ESEP) (experience)
  • Experience with digital engineering practices, digital twins, or AI/ML integration in systems (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and design integrated systems solutions for aerospace platforms, ensuring modularity, scalability, and interoperability
  • Define and trace system requirements using tools like DOORS NextGen or Polarion, maintaining full lifecycle traceability
  • Perform system-level integration testing, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) simulations
  • Lead root cause analysis for system anomalies using techniques like 8D or fishbone diagramming
  • Develop certification artifacts and support regulatory audits for airworthiness and safety compliance
  • Collaborate with global supply chain partners to ensure component-level integration meets system specifications
