Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement robust quality control processes for manufacturing and NPI programs, including statistical process control (SPC), failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), and control plans.
  • Lead root cause analysis investigations using tools like 8D, fishbone diagrams, and Six Sigma methodologies to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to qualify new products, suppliers, and processes, ensuring compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and industry-specific standards.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and capability studies to validate process performance and product conformance.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance yield, reduce defects, and optimize manufacturing efficiency.
  • Prepare and present quality metrics, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support training programs on quality tools and best practices.

  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering within manufacturing or NPI environments, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or high-tech industries (experience)
  • Proven experience with quality management systems such as AS9100, ISO 9001, or IATF 16949 (experience)
  • Hands-on expertise in statistical analysis tools (Minitab, JMP) and quality methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean) (experience)
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, GD&T, and inspection techniques (experience)
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Quality Management (experience)
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Black Belt certification (experience)
  • Experience with NPI processes in regulated industries like aerospace or medical devices (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement quality control plans, inspection methods, and testing protocols for new product introductions and manufacturing lines
  • Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities using structured methodologies like 8D and PFMEA to address quality excursions
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and supplier teams to qualify components, processes, and assemblies against specifications
  • Perform process capability studies (Cp/Cpk), Gage R&R, and statistical process control to ensure consistent product quality
