This on-site role is based in key global locations supporting Honeywell's Repair & Overhaul (R&O) operations for aerospace and industrial components. As an R&O Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of mission-critical equipment through meticulous repair, testing, and overhaul processes. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed disassembly, inspection, and non-destructive testing (NDT) on aerospace components such as turbine engines, avionics, and hydraulic systems to identify defects and wear.
  • Execute precision repairs using specialized tools, including machining, welding, plating, and heat treatment, adhering to OEM specifications and FAA/EASA regulations.
  • Assemble and test overhauled units using advanced diagnostic equipment to verify functionality, performance, and airworthiness.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including work orders, test data, and compliance records, ensuring traceability and audit readiness.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on failures and implement corrective actions to improve R&O processes and reduce turnaround times.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, quality assurance, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and optimize repair methodologies.
  • Ensure workplace safety by following Honeywell's safety protocols, 5S standards, and environmental regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical diploma in Aviation Maintenance, Aerospace Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (experience)
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Repair & Overhaul (R&O) or Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) for aerospace or industrial components (experience)
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license or equivalent international certification (e.g., EASA Part-66) (experience)
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings, blueprints, and OEM repair manuals (experience)
  • Experience with precision measurement tools and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related discipline (experience)
  • ASNT Level II certification in NDT techniques (PT, MT, UT, RT) (experience)
  • Experience with Honeywell-specific product lines or engine overhaul processes (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble complex aerospace components using specialized tooling and document findings per repair manuals
  • Inspect parts for corrosion, cracks, and dimensional wear using micrometers, borescopes, and ultrasonic testers
  • Repair or refurbish components through machining, grinding, plating, and non-destructive repairs
  • Assemble units with precise tolerances and perform functional, hydraulic, and pneumatic bench tests
  • Conduct in-process and final quality inspections to ensure compliance with FAA/EASA standards
  • Update digital maintenance records in Honeywell's ERP system and generate overhaul certifications
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Six Sigma projects to enhance shop efficiency
