Senior Advanced Cybersecurity Architect/Engineer

Location: International (Hybrid Workplace)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Advanced Cybersecurity Architect/Engineer to join our global cybersecurity team. In this hybrid role, you will design and implement cutting-edge security architectures to protect Honeywell's critical infrastructure, industrial control systems (ICS), and cloud environments. Reporting to the Director of Cybersecurity Architecture, you will drive innovation in threat detection, resilience, and compliance across aerospace, building technologies, and performance materials sectors. This position offers the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams in a collaborative, hybrid model, blending remote flexibility with on-site collaboration at international Honeywell sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and deploy advanced cybersecurity solutions, including zero-trust frameworks, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and secure access service edge (SASE) for hybrid cloud environments.
  • Lead the design of security architectures for OT/IT convergence, ensuring protection of ICS/SCADA systems against sophisticated threats.
  • Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities in complex, multi-vendor ecosystems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and compliance teams to integrate security-by-design principles into product development lifecycles.
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity roadmaps, standards, and policies aligned with NIST, ISO 27001, and CMMC frameworks.
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead incident response simulations to enhance organizational resilience.
  • Stay abreast of emerging threats, technologies, and regulations to proactively evolve Honeywell's security posture.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (experience)
  • 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity architecture, engineering, or related roles, with proven expertise in enterprise and industrial environments (experience)
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing security for cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and OT systems (ICS/SCADA) (experience)
  • Deep knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, and zero-trust architecture (experience)
  • Experience with threat hunting, vulnerability management, and security orchestration tools (experience)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain relevant security clearances for international projects (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or equivalent advanced degree (experience)
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC GCIH, or CCSP (experience)
  • Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure sectors with OT security focus (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design scalable cybersecurity architectures integrating identity management, encryption, and network segmentation for hybrid IT/OT environments
  • Lead security assessments and red team exercises to simulate advanced persistent threats (APTs)
  • Develop and automate security policies using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and tools like Terraform or Ansible
  • Collaborate with global teams to ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and sector-specific regulations
  • Engineer advanced threat detection systems using SIEM (Splunk, ELK), SOAR platforms, and AI/ML-based analytics
  • Provide technical leadership in incident response, forensics, and post-mortem analysis
  • Innovate secure solutions for IoT/edge devices in Honeywell's product portfolio
