Location: Redmond, WA (Hybrid)

Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and simulate analog/mixed-signal circuits for accelerometers, including low-noise amplifiers, signal conditioning, and precision voltage references.
  • Lead schematic capture, PCB layout, and prototyping using tools like Altium Designer and Cadence.
  • Perform worst-case analysis, tolerance stack-up, and SPICE simulations to ensure reliability in harsh environments.
  • Support product lifecycle from concept through qualification, including environmental testing (vibration, shock, thermal).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—firmware, mechanical, systems engineering—to integrate designs into full systems.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews, ensuring compliance with DO-254 and AS9100 standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in legacy products, optimizing for performance, cost, and manufacturability.

As a Senior Advanced Electrical Design Engineer- Analog here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for the design of new products, as well as supporting existing products in our high-performance accelerometer portfolio. You will report directly to our Director of Engineering, and you’ll work out of our Redmond, WA location on a Hybrid basis.

  • 7+ years of experience in analog/mixed-signal circuit design for high-reliability applications (experience)
  • Proven track record designing accelerometers, inertial sensors, or precision analog systems (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with PCB design, schematic capture, and layout tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence) (experience)
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards such as DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and IPC-6012 (experience)
  • Experience with lab instrumentation including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and environmental test equipment (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering with focus on analog design (experience)
  • Experience with high-performance sensor interfaces (e.g., Sigma-Delta ADCs, lock-in amplifiers) (experience)
  • Certifications in Six Sigma, IPC, or aerospace quality standards (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement analog front-ends for accelerometers, optimizing for noise, linearity, and bandwidth
  • Conduct detailed simulations and modeling using LTSpice, MATLAB/Simulink for circuit performance verification
  • Oversee PCB prototyping, assembly, and bring-up, iterating designs based on empirical data
  • Perform failure mode analysis (FMEA) and design for reliability in radiation-tolerant and high-g environments
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain to ensure design scalability and cost efficiency
  • Lead design reviews and documentation for certification and customer deliverables
  • Support field issues and continuous improvement initiatives for existing product lines
