Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration of electrical components into multidisciplinary systems, ensuring compliance with rigorous safety, EMC/EMI, and environmental standards such as DO-160 and MIL-STD.
  • Perform detailed simulations, modeling, and analysis using tools like SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, and Altium Designer to optimize system performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and systems architects, to deliver robust prototypes and production-ready designs.
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead technical reviews, risk assessments, and design verification processes to uphold Honeywell's commitment to quality and innovation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, incorporating emerging technologies like high-voltage power electronics and IoT-enabled sensing into next-generation products.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited university (experience)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in advanced electrical systems design and development, preferably in aerospace, defense, or industrial automation (experience)
  • Proven track record of delivering electrical designs from concept to production, including PCB layout and schematic capture (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with electrical testing, debugging, and validation using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and environmental chambers (experience)
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards including IPC, UL, FCC, and aerospace-specific regulations (experience)
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required due to ITAR and export control compliance (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering with focus on power electronics or embedded systems (experience)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or certifications such as Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) (experience)
  • Experience with high-reliability systems for avionics, automotive, or renewable energy applications (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and design high-performance electrical systems, including analog/digital circuits, power supplies, and RF/microwave components
  • Conduct feasibility studies, trade analyses, and worst-case circuit analysis to mitigate risks early in the design cycle
  • Develop and execute test plans for hardware validation, including thermal, vibration, and EMI/EMC testing
  • Lead design reviews and failure mode analysis (FMEA) to ensure robust, reliable solutions
  • Integrate firmware and software with electrical hardware, supporting real-time embedded applications
  • Collaborate with supply chain and manufacturing teams to optimize designs for producibility and cost
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and contribute to Honeywell's IP portfolio through patents and technical publications
