In this hybrid role (#LI-Hybrid), you will play a pivotal role in developing and optimizing a cutting-edge voice-based workflow product that revolutionizes industrial operations, enhancing efficiency and user experience across Honeywell’s global portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize advanced systems architectures for voice-enabled workflow solutions, integrating AI, machine learning, and real-time processing capabilities.
  • Lead end-to-end systems engineering processes, from requirements gathering and prototyping to deployment and performance tuning in cloud and edge environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, product managers, and domain experts to define system specifications and ensure seamless integration with Honeywell’s IoT and automation platforms.
  • Conduct rigorous testing, simulation, and validation of voice recognition algorithms and workflow engines to achieve high accuracy and low latency in noisy industrial settings.
  • Drive innovation by researching emerging technologies in speech processing, natural language understanding (NLU), and human-machine interaction to enhance product capabilities.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical roadmaps, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance with industry standards like ISO 26262 and NIST.
  • Analyze system performance metrics and user feedback to iteratively improve the product, reducing operational downtime and boosting productivity for end-users.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field (experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, with focus on embedded systems, real-time applications, or voice/audio processing (experience)
  • Proven track record in developing complex software-hardware integrated systems for industrial or enterprise environments (experience)
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering tools such as SysML, Cameo, or MATLAB/Simulink (experience)
  • Strong understanding of systems integration, verification, and validation processes in agile development cycles (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Artificial Intelligence (experience)
  • Professional certifications such as INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or AWS Certified Solutions Architect (experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in voice technology ecosystems (e.g., Amazon Alexa, Google Dialogflow, or Nuance) or industrial IoT platforms (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect scalable voice-based workflow systems integrating speech-to-text (STT), natural language processing (NLP), and workflow orchestration engines
  • Lead requirements analysis and trade studies to optimize system performance for low-latency, high-reliability applications in manufacturing environments
  • Develop and maintain system models, simulations, and prototypes to validate design decisions and predict real-world behavior
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and cloud teams to ensure robust integration and deployment across hybrid edge-cloud infrastructures
  • Perform risk assessments, failure mode analysis (FMEA), and cybersecurity evaluations to meet regulatory and safety standards
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams on best practices in systems engineering and contribute to technical documentation and patents
  • Monitor post-deployment performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements based on field data and user analytics
