Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and execution of advanced test strategies for complex aerospace systems, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations and environmental testing.
  • Mentor and manage a team of 5-10 test engineers, fostering skill development and ensuring adherence to rigorous quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, quality assurance, and program management, to integrate test requirements into product development lifecycles.
  • Analyze test data using statistical methods and root cause analysis tools to identify defects, optimize performance, and recommend process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain test automation scripts and frameworks using tools like LabVIEW, Python, and MATLAB for efficient, repeatable testing.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as DO-178C, DO-254, and AS9100, while managing test budgets and schedules for on-time delivery.
  • Drive innovation in test methodologies, including digital twin technologies and AI-driven predictive testing, to accelerate time-to-market.

  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment (experience)
  • Hands-on expertise with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and environmental chambers (experience)
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace standards (e.g., DO-160, MIL-STD-810) and quality management systems like AS9100 (experience)
  • Experience with test automation and data analysis tools including Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or related field (experience)
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Test Engineer (CTE) or Six Sigma Black Belt (experience)
  • 10+ years in aerospace testing with experience in avionics or propulsion systems (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive test plans for advanced aerospace hardware and software
  • Mentor junior engineers and conduct performance reviews to build a high-performing team
  • Perform root cause analysis on test failures and implement corrective actions to enhance system reliability
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate new testing technologies like AI/ML for predictive analytics
  • Manage test lab resources, budgets, and schedules to meet program milestones and deliverables
  • Document test procedures, results, and reports for regulatory audits and customer reviews
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce test cycle times and costs
