Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute engineering strategies aligned with HPS business objectives, overseeing a team of 50+ engineers across multiple disciplines.
  • Lead the design and deployment of advanced control systems, digital twins, and predictive maintenance solutions for lifecycle services.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with R&D, sales, and operations to accelerate product innovation and market adoption.
  • Manage engineering budgets exceeding $50M, optimizing resource allocation for high-ROI projects.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, mentoring talent and implementing agile methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISA, IEC) and champion sustainability in engineering practices.

Honeywell is seeking a visionary Senior Director Technology to lead our technological innovation efforts and drive strategic initiatives for our LSS business. This position reports directly to the HPS Chief Technology Officer and is based in our Houston, TX location with a Hybrid work schedule.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field (experience)
  • 15+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience in industrial automation, process control, or lifecycle services (experience)
  • 10+ years in the oil & gas, chemicals, or refining industries with proven expertise in HPS or similar DCS/PLC systems (experience)
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale engineering teams (50+ members) and multi-million-dollar P&L responsibilities (experience)
  • Deep knowledge of digital transformation technologies including AI/ML, IIoT, and edge computing (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or MBA in Engineering Management or related field (experience)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or certifications in ISA/CCST, Six Sigma Black Belt (experience)
  • Experience with Honeywell Experion PKS, ControlEdge, or Forge cybersecurity solutions (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and lead the development of next-generation engineering solutions for process optimization and asset performance management
  • Spearhead strategic R&D initiatives, from concept to commercialization, targeting 20%+ efficiency gains for clients
  • Collaborate with C-suite executives to define technology roadmaps and secure executive sponsorship for key projects
  • Oversee engineering excellence, including risk assessments, FMEA, and HAZOP studies for mission-critical deployments
  • Build and mentor high-performing engineering teams, driving talent development and succession planning
  • Partner with global sales and service teams to deliver customized lifecycle solutions enhancing customer retention
  • Champion innovation through patents, industry publications, and participation in standards bodies like ISA/IEC
