Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement real-time embedded software for electronic controllers using C/C++ and Ada, adhering to DO-178C DAL A/B standards.
  • Lead software architecture development, including requirements analysis, modeling with tools like MATLAB/Simulink, and unit/integration testing.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, systems teams, and certification authorities to ensure compliance with aerospace regulations (e.g., ARP4754A, ARP4761).
  • Perform code reviews, static analysis, and debugging on embedded platforms such as ARM Cortex or PowerPC processors.
  • Drive continuous improvement in software processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance product quality and development efficiency.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical roadmaps for future electronic control unit (ECU) innovations.

  • Proven experience with DO-178C compliance and aerospace software certification processes (experience)
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++, Ada, and real-time operating systems (RTOS) like VxWorks or Green Hills INTEGRITY (experience)
  • Experience with embedded hardware integration and debugging tools (e.g., JTAG, oscilloscopes) (experience)
  • Ability to obtain security clearance for defense-related projects (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (experience)
  • DO-178C training certification or ARP4754A experience (experience)
  • Prior work on avionics systems or electronic control units (ECUs) in aerospace (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop embedded software for electronic controllers, ensuring real-time performance and fault tolerance
  • Conduct requirements traceability, verification, and validation per aerospace standards
  • Implement and test algorithms for control systems using model-based design tools like MATLAB/Simulink
  • Perform static and dynamic code analysis, unit testing, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, systems, and quality teams to resolve integration issues
  • Lead design reviews and mentor team members on best practices in embedded software engineering
  • Support certification activities, including documentation and liaison with regulatory bodies like EASA/FAA
