Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)

Overview

As a Service & Repair Technician II at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective service and repair of our advanced industrial products, including aerospace components, automation systems, and safety technologies. Reporting directly to the Service & Repair Manager, you will work out of our state-of-the-art facility in Charlotte, NC, on a hybrid schedule that balances hands-on technical work with flexible remote options. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and product reliability for Honeywell's global clientele.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of complex electromechanical and electronic systems using specialized tools and Honeywell proprietary software.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, calibration, and testing on products to ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001 and FAA regulations.
  • Document all service activities, generate detailed repair reports, and update customer service records in Honeywell's ERP systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify recurring issues and recommend design improvements for enhanced product durability.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the service team.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment to minimize downtime and optimize repair turnaround times.
  • Respond to field service requests, including on-site repairs at customer locations when required, ensuring 24/7 operational support readiness.

  • Proven expertise in diagnostic troubleshooting using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and schematic analysis (experience)
  • Experience with ERP systems and service management software for documentation and reporting (experience)
  • Ability to obtain security clearance if required for aerospace or defense-related repairs (experience)
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 20% for field service (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (experience)
  • Certifications such as IPC-A-610, ASQ Certified Repair Technician, or Honeywell-specific product training (experience)
  • Experience in aerospace or automation industries with familiarity to FAA or ISO standards (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex faults in Honeywell products including sensors, controllers, and actuators using advanced test equipment
  • Execute preventive maintenance schedules and calibrations to ensure equipment meets performance specifications and regulatory compliance
  • Generate accurate service reports, bills of materials, and failure analysis documentation in digital platforms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D and quality assurance to resolve systemic product issues
  • Mentor entry-level technicians on repair procedures, safety protocols, and best practices
  • Maintain and organize service inventory, ordering parts to support rapid turnaround times
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to prevent future failures
