We are seeking a dedicated Servicetechniker / Field Service Technician (m/w/d) Building Automation to join our team in Volketswil, Switzerland. In this on-site, international role, you will play a key part in transforming buildings to be safer, more operationally efficient, and energy-optimized. As a Field Service Technician, you will deliver hands-on technical support, maintenance, and optimization of advanced building automation systems (BAS), including HVAC, lighting, security, and energy management controls. This position offers the opportunity to work across diverse client sites, leveraging Honeywell's cutting-edge technologies to drive real-world impact on sustainability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on building automation systems, ensuring 99%+ uptime for critical infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues using diagnostic tools, software, and Honeywell's proprietary platforms like Niagara Framework.
  • Install, configure, and commission new BAS components, integrating sensors, controllers, and SCADA systems for seamless operation.
  • Conduct site assessments and energy audits to recommend optimizations that reduce energy consumption by up to 30%.
  • Train clients and end-users on system operation, providing documentation and support to maximize system efficiency.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and sales teams to ensure service delivery aligns with customer contracts and SLAs.
  • Maintain accurate service records, inventory, and compliance with safety standards (e.g., ISO 50001, EU regulations).

Required Qualifications

  • Completed apprenticeship or technical degree (z.B. Elektrotechniker HF/FH) in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or building automation (experience)
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a service technician in building automation, HVAC, or industrial controls (experience)
  • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, P&ID diagrams, and BACnet/LON protocols (experience)
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel internationally (up to 50%) (experience)
  • Fluency in German and English; additional languages (French/Italian) advantageous (experience)
  • Ability to work independently on-site with strong safety awareness (SUVA/ISO standards) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Building Automation, Electrical Engineering, or related field (experience)
  • Certifications such as Niagara 4, Siemens Desigo, Honeywell WEBs, or VDI 3814 (experience)
  • Experience with energy management systems (EMS) and IoT integration in smart buildings (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Execute on-site installation, commissioning, and testing of building automation controllers and field devices
  • Troubleshoot and repair faults in HVAC, lighting, and access control systems using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and software diagnostics
  • Perform system upgrades and software patches to enhance cybersecurity and operational efficiency
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of control algorithms for energy savings
  • Document all service activities in CMMS systems and generate client reports on KPIs
  • Support emergency call-outs 24/7, minimizing downtime for mission-critical facilities
  • Liaise with suppliers for spare parts and collaborate on root cause analysis for recurring issues
