Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for aerospace systems using C++, Python, and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, hardware designers, and certification specialists, to define software requirements and architectures.
  • Implement unit tests, integration tests, and perform code reviews to ensure compliance with DO-178C standards and high reliability.
  • Optimize software performance for resource-constrained environments, such as avionics and flight control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues in simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing environments.
  • Contribute to agile sprints, participating in planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to deliver iterative improvements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and document software designs for maintainability and regulatory audits.

  • Proficiency in C++, Python, and real-time operating systems (e.g., VxWorks, Green Hills INTEGRITY) (experience)
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, including requirements analysis and verification (experience)
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards such as DO-178C, ARP4754A, or similar safety-critical regulations (experience)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering high-quality, reliable code (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field (experience)
  • DO-178C certification experience or formal training in avionics software development (experience)
  • Experience with model-based development tools like MATLAB/Simulink or SCADE (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement scalable software solutions for aerospace control systems and avionics
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and static analysis to uphold coding standards and safety compliance
  • Develop and execute automated test suites for unit, integration, and system-level validation
  • Integrate software with hardware platforms, including debugging in real-time embedded environments
  • Collaborate with certification authorities to prepare artifacts for FAA/EASA approvals
  • Analyze system performance metrics and optimize algorithms for low-latency, deterministic behavior
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, adopting DevSecOps practices for CI/CD pipelines
