Sr Advanced Product Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Greer, SC | Workplace: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement advanced manufacturing processes for new product introductions (NPI), leveraging lean manufacturing principles and Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma methodologies to reduce defects and cycle times.
  • Optimize production workflows by integrating automation, robotics, and digital twins to achieve cost savings and scalability.
  • Conduct process capability studies, Design of Experiments (DOE), and statistical process control (SPC) to ensure product quality and compliance with AS9100 standards.
  • Collaborate with R&D, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to transition prototypes into high-volume production seamlessly.
  • Mentor junior engineers and drive knowledge transfer on advanced manufacturing techniques.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in advanced product manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace or high-tech industries (experience)
  • Proven track record in process optimization and new product introduction (NPI) within a manufacturing environment (experience)
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher), and statistical analysis tools (experience)
  • Hands-on expertise in CAD/CAM software, automation systems, and manufacturing execution systems (MES) (experience)
  • Strong understanding of AS9100/ISO 9001 quality standards and regulatory compliance (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or related field (experience)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification or equivalent (experience)
  • Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies such as IoT, AI-driven predictive maintenance, or digital twins (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and qualify advanced manufacturing processes for complex aerospace components using DOE and SPC methodologies
  • Lead kaizen events and value stream mapping to eliminate waste and improve throughput by 20%+
  • Implement robotic automation and PLC programming to enhance production efficiency and safety
  • Perform failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and root cause corrective actions (RCCA) for quality issues
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure manufacturability and on-time delivery of critical components
  • Drive adoption of digital manufacturing tools, including simulation software and AR/VR for training
  • Prepare technical reports, present findings to leadership, and support audits for continuous improvement
