Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement advanced embedded software for real-time systems using C/C++ on microcontrollers and DSPs.
  • Lead the full lifecycle of embedded firmware development, from requirements analysis to deployment and validation.
  • Optimize low-level drivers, RTOS configurations, and communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet, I2C) for performance and power efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and integration of hardware-software interfaces using tools like oscilloscopes, JTAG debuggers, and emulators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, systems architects, and product managers to ensure seamless integration.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews, best practices, and process improvements in an Agile environment.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as DO-178C, MISRA, and ISO 26262 for safety-critical applications.

  • Strong experience with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, VxWorks) and bare-metal programming (experience)
  • Familiarity with embedded hardware debugging tools and protocols (experience)
  • Experience with safety-critical standards like DO-178C or functional safety (ISO 26262) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field (experience)
  • Certifications such as ARM Accredited Engineer or ISTQB Embedded Tester (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace or automotive embedded systems and model-based development (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded firmware for microcontrollers and SoCs in safety-critical applications
  • Implement and optimize real-time communication stacks including CAN, SPI, and Ethernet
  • Perform unit, integration, and system-level testing using automated frameworks and HIL simulation
  • Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and traceability matrix for certification compliance
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware-software integration issues in lab and field environments
  • Collaborate with global R&D teams to innovate on power-efficient and secure embedded solutions
  • Document designs, APIs, and test results per Honeywell engineering standards
