Sr Advanced Embedded Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement real-time embedded software for microcontroller and microprocessor-based systems using C/C++ and RTOS.
  • Develop and debug low-level drivers for peripherals such as sensors, actuators, communication interfaces (CAN, Ethernet, SPI/I2C), and power management ICs.
  • Lead firmware optimization efforts to achieve high performance, low power consumption, and deterministic behavior in safety-critical environments.
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) validation using tools like JTAG debuggers and oscilloscopes.
  • Collaborate with hardware, systems, and software teams to define requirements, perform design reviews, and ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., MISRA, DO-178C).
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to agile development processes, including CI/CD pipelines for embedded workflows.
  • Investigate and resolve complex field issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing robust fixes.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded software development for real-time systems (experience)
  • Proven expertise in C/C++ programming for resource-constrained embedded environments (experience)
  • Experience with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or VxWorks) and bare-metal programming (experience)
  • Strong understanding of embedded hardware protocols and debugging tools (experience)
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with excellent problem-solving skills (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems or related field (experience)
  • Certifications such as ARM Accredited Engineer or ISTQB for embedded testing (experience)
  • Experience with safety-critical systems (e.g., aerospace avionics or automotive functional safety) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded firmware for MCUs/MPUs targeting aerospace and industrial applications
  • Implement and optimize communication stacks including CAN, Ethernet, and wireless protocols
  • Perform comprehensive testing including unit, integration, and system-level validation
  • Lead code reviews, design reviews, and technical documentation for compliance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with hardware prototypes
  • Drive performance tuning and power optimization for battery-operated devices
  • Support product lifecycle from concept through deployment and field maintenance
