Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement advanced embedded software for real-time systems using C/C++ on microcontrollers and SoCs.
  • Develop and debug low-level drivers, firmware, and RTOS-based applications for resource-constrained environments.
  • Perform hardware-software integration, unit testing, and system-level validation using tools like oscilloscopes, JTAG debuggers, and emulators.
  • Optimize embedded code for power efficiency, performance, and reliability in safety-critical domains compliant with DO-178C or ISO 26262 standards.
  • Lead design reviews, contribute to requirements analysis, and ensure adherence to Honeywell's quality and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, systems architects, and product managers to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in development processes and tools.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in embedded systems development (experience)
  • Proven expertise in C/C++ programming for embedded applications (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, VxWorks) and bare-metal programming (experience)
  • Strong understanding of microcontroller architectures (ARM Cortex, AVR, etc.) and peripherals (experience)
  • Experience with embedded debugging tools and hardware-software integration (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent (experience)
  • Certifications such as ARM Accredited Engineer or ISTQB (experience)
  • Experience in safety-critical systems (DO-178C, MISRA C compliance) or IoT edge devices (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded firmware for complex, real-time control systems using C/C++ and assembly
  • Implement and optimize communication protocols such as CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, and Ethernet
  • Conduct thorough testing, including unit tests, integration tests, and hardware-in-the-loop simulations
  • Analyze and resolve complex issues in embedded systems, improving reliability and performance
  • Lead technical reviews and contribute to embedded software architecture decisions
  • Collaborate with hardware teams to define interfaces and ensure seamless system integration
  • Document designs, develop reusable code libraries, and support product certification processes
