Sr Advanced Embedded Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement embedded software for microcontrollers and SoCs, ensuring high performance, low latency, and reliability in safety-critical environments.
  • Develop and debug firmware using C/C++, RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, VxWorks), and bare-metal programming for resource-constrained devices.
  • Lead design reviews, code optimization, and integration of hardware-software interfaces, including peripherals like SPI, I2C, UART, and Ethernet.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and validation using tools like JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, and automated test frameworks.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, systems architects, and product managers to define requirements and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in embedded software development, CI/CD pipelines, and version control with Git.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as MISRA C, DO-178C, and ISO 26262 for automotive and avionics applications.

  • Proven expertise in C/C++ programming for microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, AVR, etc.) (experience)
  • Experience with RTOS and embedded Linux development (experience)
  • Strong understanding of hardware-software integration and debugging (experience)
  • Familiarity with embedded testing methodologies and tools (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent (experience)
  • Certifications such as Certified Embedded Systems Professional (CESP) or ARM Accredited Engineer (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace or automotive embedded systems (DO-178C, AUTOSAR) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop low-level drivers and firmware for sensors, actuators, and communication protocols
  • Optimize embedded code for power efficiency, memory usage, and real-time performance
  • Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of complex embedded system issues using advanced debugging tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate embedded software into full system solutions
  • Develop and maintain automated build, test, and deployment pipelines for embedded projects
  • Conduct peer code reviews and mentor team members on embedded best practices
  • Stay updated on emerging embedded technologies and contribute to technical roadmaps
