Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement advanced embedded software for real-time systems using C/C++ on microcontrollers and SoCs.
  • Develop and debug low-level drivers, firmware, and RTOS-based applications for resource-constrained environments.
  • Perform system-level integration, testing, and validation using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers.
  • Optimize embedded code for power efficiency, performance, and reliability in safety-critical domains compliant with DO-178C or ISO 26262 standards.
  • Lead design reviews, contribute to requirements analysis, and ensure adherence to Honeywell's quality and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and application teams to resolve complex cross-disciplinary issues.
  • Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in development processes and tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (experience)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded software development for real-time systems (experience)
  • Proven expertise in C/C++ programming for microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, AVR, etc.) (experience)
  • Experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or VxWorks) and bare-metal programming (experience)
  • Strong knowledge of embedded hardware interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, Ethernet) (experience)
  • Familiarity with embedded testing tools and methodologies (unit testing, HIL/SIL) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems or related field (experience)
  • Certifications in embedded development (e.g., ARM Accredited Engineer, ISTQB) (experience)
  • Experience with safety-critical standards (DO-178C, MISRA C) or functional safety (ISO 26262) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded firmware and drivers for complex SoC-based systems
  • Lead debugging and root-cause analysis of firmware issues in production environments
  • Implement power optimization and real-time performance tuning for battery-operated devices
  • Conduct code reviews, static analysis, and ensure MISRA compliance
  • Integrate wireless protocols (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee) into embedded applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture and interfaces
  • Document designs, develop test plans, and support system qualification activities
