Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement advanced embedded software for real-time systems using C/C++ on microcontrollers and SoCs.
  • Develop and debug low-level drivers, firmware, and RTOS-based applications for safety-critical environments (e.g., DO-178C compliant).
  • Perform hardware-software integration, optimization, and validation using tools like oscilloscopes, JTAG debuggers, and emulators.
  • Lead design reviews, requirements analysis, and risk assessments to ensure robust, scalable embedded solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, systems architects, and quality assurance to meet project milestones.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in embedded development methodologies.
  • Investigate and resolve complex issues in production systems, enhancing reliability and performance.

  • Hands-on experience with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, VxWorks) and bare-metal programming (experience)
  • Strong understanding of microcontroller architectures (ARM Cortex, AVR, etc.) and peripherals (experience)
  • Experience with embedded debugging tools and hardware-software integration (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent (experience)
  • Certifications such as ARM Accredited Engineer or ISTQB for embedded testing (experience)
  • Experience in safety-critical systems (e.g., aerospace avionics, automotive functional safety) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded firmware for real-time control systems using C/C++ and assembly
  • Implement and optimize device drivers for sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, CAN, Ethernet)
  • Lead embedded software architecture, including partitioning, modularity, and scalability for complex systems
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and static analysis using tools like LDRA or VectorCAST
  • Collaborate with hardware teams to define interfaces and resolve integration challenges
  • Perform code reviews, documentation, and compliance with industry standards (MISRA, CERT C)
  • Troubleshoot and enhance system performance, power efficiency, and reliability in production environments
