Sr Advanced Embedded Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement advanced embedded software for real-time systems using C/C++ on microcontrollers and ARM-based processors.
  • Develop and debug low-level drivers, firmware, and RTOS-based applications for safety-critical environments.
  • Perform hardware-software integration, optimization, and validation testing to ensure compliance with industry standards like MISRA and ISO 26262.
  • Lead design reviews, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives for embedded systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, systems architects, and product managers to define requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to agile development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and embedded tooling.

Skills Required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (experience)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development for industrial or aerospace applications (experience)
  • Proven expertise in real-time embedded systems using C/C++ and RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, VxWorks) (experience)
  • Strong experience with microcontroller peripherals, communication protocols (I2C, SPI, CAN, Ethernet), and hardware debugging tools (experience)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and deliver high-quality, reliable firmware (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent (experience)
  • Certifications such as ARM Accredited Engineer or ISTQB for embedded testing (experience)
  • Experience with safety-critical systems (DO-178C, IEC 61508) and agile methodologies (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize embedded firmware for resource-constrained microcontrollers and SoCs
  • Implement and test communication interfaces including UART, CAN, Modbus, and wireless protocols (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi)
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and performance profiling using tools like JTAG debuggers and oscilloscopes
  • Lead code reviews, static analysis, and ensure adherence to coding standards and cybersecurity best practices
  • Troubleshoot complex system-level issues and perform root cause analysis for field deployments
  • Collaborate with hardware teams to define board bring-up procedures and power optimization strategies
  • Document designs, contribute to technical specifications, and support product certification processes
