Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural design and development of complex hardware systems, including PCBs, FPGAs, and embedded controllers for aerospace and industrial applications.
  • Perform detailed schematic capture, PCB layout, and signal integrity analysis using industry-standard tools.
  • Conduct hardware prototyping, testing, debugging, and validation to ensure compliance with rigorous industry standards such as DO-254 and IPC.
  • Collaborate with firmware, software, and systems engineering teams to integrate hardware components into full product solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead design reviews to drive technical excellence and innovation.
  • Analyze system requirements, perform risk assessments, and implement design improvements for enhanced reliability and cost-efficiency.
  • Support product lifecycle management, from concept through production and field deployment.

Skills Required

  • Proficiency in PCB design tools (Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or Mentor Graphics)intermediate
  • Expertise in analog and digital circuit design, power supply design, and RF fundamentalsintermediate
  • Strong knowledge of microcontrollers, FPGAs, and interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet)intermediate
  • Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers) and test automationintermediate
  • Signal integrity and thermal analysis skillsintermediate
  • Problem-solving and analytical mindset with attention to detailintermediate
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilitiesintermediate
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and agile methodologiesintermediate

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field from a recognized university (experience)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in hardware design and development for embedded systems or aerospace/industrial applications (experience)
  • Proven expertise in PCB design, schematic capture, and hardware prototyping (experience)
  • Experience with hardware testing, debugging, and compliance standards (e.g., DO-160, IPC Class 3) (experience)
  • Strong understanding of analog/digital circuit design, power electronics, and signal integrity (experience)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead hardware projects from concept to production (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (experience)
  • Certifications such as IPC Certified Interconnect Designer (CID) or Six Sigma Green Belt (experience)
  • Experience with FPGA design (VHDL/Verilog) and high-speed interfaces (PCIe, DDR) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and design advanced hardware systems including multi-layer PCBs, mixed-signal circuits, and embedded processors for Honeywell products
  • Execute full-cycle hardware development: requirements analysis, schematic design, layout, fabrication, and assembly
  • Perform rigorous testing, simulation (e.g., SPICE, HyperLynx), and validation to meet performance, EMI/EMC, and environmental standards
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with software/firmware teams for seamless hardware-software integration
  • Conduct design reviews, failure analysis, and root cause investigations to optimize reliability and reduce time-to-market
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers while contributing to innovation roadmaps and patentable technologies
  • Support manufacturing transition, yield improvement, and field issue resolution for sustained product success
