This on-site role in our state-of-the-art facility will focus on designing cutting-edge mechanical systems for aerospace, industrial automation, and energy sectors. As a senior contributor, you will drive the development of next-generation products, leveraging advanced CAD tools and simulation software to create reliable, high-performance solutions that power Honeywell's global portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, analysis, and optimization of complex mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD modeling and finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Develop and validate prototypes through rigorous testing protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ASME, ISO, and aerospace specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems engineers, manufacturing, and quality assurance to integrate designs into production-ready solutions.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up analysis, kinematic simulations, and thermal/structural assessments to mitigate risks and enhance product durability.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews, providing technical leadership on best practices in mechanical engineering.
  • Drive innovation by exploring advanced materials, additive manufacturing techniques, and sustainable design principles to meet evolving customer needs.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design reports, DFMEA, and BOMs, to support regulatory approvals and customer deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution (experience)
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or industrial sectors (experience)
  • Proven proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Siemens NX, SolidWorks, or Creo (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) for structural, thermal, and vibration analysis (experience)
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, material science, and manufacturing processes like CNC machining and additive manufacturing (experience)
  • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (experience)
  • Professional certification such as Six Sigma Green Belt or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (experience)
  • Experience in aerospace product development or working with regulatory standards like FAA/DGCA (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop advanced mechanical systems and components using parametric 3D modeling and simulation tools
  • Conduct detailed finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to validate designs
  • Lead prototype fabrication, testing, and iteration cycles to ensure performance meets specifications
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical designs with electrical and software subsystems
  • Perform risk assessments, including DFMEA and tolerance analysis, to optimize reliability and cost
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in advanced design methodologies and best practices
  • Support product lifecycle management from concept through production and sustainment phases
