Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the conceptual design, modeling, and analysis of complex mechanical components and assemblies using state-of-the-art CAD tools like Creo or SolidWorks.
  • Perform structural, thermal, and vibration analyses using FEA software such as ANSYS to ensure designs meet rigorous performance and safety standards.
  • Develop and optimize prototypes through iterative testing, validation, and root cause analysis to accelerate product development cycles.
  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including systems engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance to integrate designs seamlessly.
  • Drive innovation by incorporating advanced materials, additive manufacturing, and tolerance optimization to reduce costs and improve manufacturability.
  • Prepare technical documentation, DFMEA reports, and present design reviews to stakeholders, ensuring compliance with industry standards like AS9100 and ISO 9001.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution (experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in advanced mechanical design engineering, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or industrial sectors (experience)
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and parametric design using tools like Creo, SolidWorks, or NX (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) for structural, thermal, and dynamic simulations (experience)
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and design for manufacturability (DFM) (experience)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead design projects from concept to production (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (experience)
  • Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) and advanced composite materials (experience)
  • Professional certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop advanced mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for high-reliability applications using CAD software
  • Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) for stress, thermal, and modal simulations to validate design integrity
  • Prototype and test mechanical designs, performing tolerance analysis and failure mode assessments (DFMEA)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with electrical, software, and manufacturing requirements
  • Optimize designs for cost, weight, and performance using advanced materials and manufacturing processes
  • Lead design reviews, generate technical documentation, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement initiatives in the design process
