Sr Advanced Project Engineer

Location: Clearwater, FL (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers in the execution of advanced projects, from concept through deployment, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, budgets, and timelines.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, including risk assessments, resource allocation, and milestone tracking using tools like MS Project or Primavera.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, quality assurance, and supply chain, to provide comprehensive engineering support and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Oversee the design, prototyping, and testing of aerospace systems, applying principles of systems engineering, reliability analysis, and failure modes effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Interface with customers and internal stakeholders to define requirements, present progress updates, and ensure solutions meet stringent regulatory standards such as AS9100 and FAA certifications.
  • Drive process optimizations and implement lean methodologies to enhance project efficiency and product quality.

  • Proven track record of leading engineering teams on complex projects with budgets exceeding $1M (experience)
  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Agile) and tools like MS Project or JIRA (experience)
  • Strong understanding of aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100, DO-178C, MIL-STD) (experience)
  • U.S. Person status (ITAR compliance) due to export-controlled work (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Project Management (experience)
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification (experience)
  • Experience with avionics systems, propulsion, or embedded software development (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams to execute projects from inception to completion, ensuring on-time delivery and within budget constraints
  • Define project scopes, develop detailed work breakdown structures, and manage risks using advanced analytical tools
  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to integrate engineering solutions into production processes
  • Conduct technical reviews, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for project deviations
  • Mentor and develop team members through performance evaluations, training programs, and technical guidance
  • Prepare and present executive-level reports, proposals, and customer briefings on project status and outcomes
  • Drive innovation by identifying opportunities for process improvements and emerging technologies in aerospace engineering
