Sr Advanced Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr Advanced Project Engineer to join our Aerospace Technologies team. In this critical role, you will lead complex engineering projects from concept through execution, driving innovation in advanced avionics, propulsion systems, and sustainable aerospace solutions. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects that enhance safety, efficiency, and performance for our global customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full project lifecycle for advanced engineering initiatives, including requirements definition, design, development, testing, and deployment of aerospace systems.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies using tools like MS Project and Primavera.
- Conduct technical reviews, simulations, and analyses using CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and FEA tools to ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, and DO-178C standards.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to resolve technical challenges and achieve milestones.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on high-impact projects involving embedded systems, real-time software, and hardware integration.
- Interface with customers and stakeholders to gather requirements, present progress updates, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies to optimize processes and reduce project costs.

- Experience with aerospace standards and regulations (e.g., FAA, DO-178C, ARP4754A) (experience)
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) (experience)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in simulation and modeling tools (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or Project Management (experience)
- PMP or equivalent project management certification (experience)
- Experience with Honeywell products or similar avionics/propulsion systems (experience)
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project execution for advanced aerospace systems, ensuring on-time delivery within budget constraints
- Perform system-level design, integration, and verification using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches
- Conduct risk assessments, FMEA analyses, and trade studies to optimize engineering solutions
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve hardware/software integration issues
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including Gantt charts, technical reports, and compliance matrices
- Mentor and guide junior team members on best practices in project engineering
- Support proposal development and customer presentations for new business opportunities
