Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, modeling, and prototyping of advanced aerospace components using CAD, CFD, and FEA tools.
- Conduct experimental research and validation testing for emerging technologies like electric propulsion and AI-driven flight controls.
- Develop innovative algorithms and simulations to optimize aircraft efficiency and reduce emissions.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems engineering and manufacturing.
- Author technical reports, patents, and present findings to senior leadership and industry conferences.

Required Qualifications

- 8+ years of experience in advanced R&D within aerospace or related high-tech industries (experience)
- Proven track record of leading research projects from concept to prototype (experience)
- Expertise in aerospace simulation tools such as ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink, or STAR-CCM+ (experience)
- Experience with aerospace standards (e.g., DO-178C, ARP4754A) and certification processes (experience)
- U.S. Person status (citizen or permanent resident) due to ITAR requirements (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Aerospace Engineering or related discipline (experience)
- Patents or publications in aerospace R&D (experience)
- Experience with sustainable aviation technologies or electric/hybrid propulsion systems (experience)
Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary research teams to develop and validate novel aerospace technologies for improved safety and efficiency
- Perform advanced simulations, data analysis, and predictive modeling to innovate propulsion and avionics systems
- Design and execute laboratory and flight tests to verify performance of R&D prototypes
- Collaborate with product engineering, manufacturing, and external partners to transition technologies to production
- Identify emerging trends in aerospace R&D and recommend strategic investments
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including whitepapers, patents, and regulatory submissions
- Mentor and develop early-career engineers while fostering a culture of innovation
