Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement advanced software for real-time embedded systems used in aircraft control and navigation.
  • Lead the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment and maintenance.
  • Optimize algorithms for performance in resource-constrained environments, ensuring reliability under extreme conditions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, systems architects, and certification specialists to integrate software with avionics hardware.
  • Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to uphold DO-178C standards for aviation software.
  • Mentor junior engineers and drive technical innovation through research into AI/ML applications for predictive maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues in production environments, minimizing downtime for critical systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field (experience)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering for embedded systems or real-time applications (experience)
  • Proven experience with C/C++, Ada, or RTOS development in safety-critical environments (experience)
  • Familiarity with aviation standards such as DO-178C, ARP4754A, or similar (experience)
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile methodologies (experience)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering high-quality code (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field (experience)
  • DO-178C certification experience or Model-Based Development (MBD) tools like SCADE (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace simulation tools (e.g., Simulink, VxWorks) or AI/ML frameworks (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for avionics systems using C/C++ and real-time operating systems
  • Lead requirements analysis and traceability to ensure compliance with safety-critical standards like DO-178C
  • Perform static and dynamic code analysis, unit testing, and integration testing for robust system performance
  • Collaborate with hardware and systems teams to define interfaces and resolve integration challenges
  • Optimize software for low-latency, high-reliability operation in airborne environments
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers on best practices and emerging technologies
  • Document software designs, support certification processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
