Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect complex aerospace systems, ensuring integration of hardware, software, and firmware components for optimal performance.
  • Lead requirements analysis, decomposition, and verification to meet stringent program performance targets and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain system models using tools like SysML, MATLAB/Simulink, or Cameo Systems Modeler to simulate and validate system behavior.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, and test engineers to resolve technical challenges and implement innovative solutions.
  • Define and execute technology roadmaps, identifying emerging trends in aerospace systems engineering to enhance product competitiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in engineering processes, quality metrics, and productivity tools.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to proposal development for new business opportunities.

  • 8+ years of experience in systems engineering within aerospace or defense industries (experience)
  • Proven track record in designing and integrating complex avionics or aerospace systems (experience)
  • Experience with systems engineering lifecycle processes (requirements management, verification, and validation) (experience)
  • Familiarity with DO-178C, DO-254, or ARP4754A standards (experience)
  • U.S. Person status required due to ITAR regulations (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering or related field (experience)
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) certification (experience)
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and agile methodologies (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and design advanced aerospace systems, integrating multi-disciplinary components to achieve program performance goals
  • Lead systems requirements definition, traceability, and verification activities using tools like DOORS or Polarion
  • Develop and simulate system behaviors using SysML and MATLAB/Simulink to predict and mitigate risks
  • Collaborate with engineering leads, program managers, and customers to establish schedules, milestones, and technology roadmaps
  • Drive engineering quality improvements through process optimization, root cause analysis, and productivity enhancements
  • Mentor team members on best practices in systems engineering and support bid/proposal efforts for new programs
  • Conduct trade studies and risk assessments to inform technical decisions and ensure compliance with safety and certification standards
