Sr Advanced Systems Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural design and requirements definition for advanced multi-domain systems, including model-based systems engineering (MBSE) using tools like SysML and Cameo.
  • Perform system-level integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) activities to ensure compliance with industry standards such as DO-178C, DO-254, and ARP4754A.
  • Conduct trade studies, risk assessments, and failure modes effects analysis (FMEA) to optimize system performance, reliability, and safety.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and test engineers, to resolve complex technical issues and drive system-level innovations.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including interface control documents (ICDs), test plans, and certification artifacts for regulatory approvals.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvements in agile systems engineering practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering for complex embedded or real-time systems (experience)
  • Proven track record in requirements management and systems integration using tools like DOORS, Polarion, or Jira (experience)
  • Experience with safety-critical systems development and certification processes (e.g., RTCA/DO standards) (experience)
  • Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience in system modeling and simulation (experience)
  • Ability to obtain security clearance if required for specific projects (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering or related field (experience)
  • INCOSE certification (e.g., CSEP) or equivalent (experience)
  • Experience with Honeywell products or aerospace/industrial automation domains (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and design advanced systems integrating hardware, software, and firmware components for optimal performance
  • Lead requirements elicitation, analysis, and traceability from concept through verification
  • Execute system integration testing, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) simulations
  • Perform risk mitigation, trade-off analyses, and root cause investigations for system anomalies
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to define interfaces and ensure interoperability across subsystems
  • Drive continuous improvement in systems engineering processes and toolchains
