Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of 10-15 engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute engineering strategies aligned with business objectives, customer requirements, and industry standards for structural integrity in aerospace and defense applications.
  • Oversee the design, analysis, and validation of advanced composite and metallic structures using finite element analysis (FEA) tools like NASTRAN and ANSYS.
  • Drive process improvements in CAD modeling, prototyping, and testing to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including aerodynamics, manufacturing, and program management, to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical guidance on fatigue, fracture mechanics, and durability assessments for mission-critical components.
  • Identify emerging technologies and materials to support Honeywell's growth engines in sustainable aviation and urban air mobility.

  • 10+ years of experience in structures engineering within aerospace, defense, or high-tech industries (experience)
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams and projects (experience)
  • Proven track record of delivering complex structural designs from concept to certification (experience)
  • Deep expertise in finite element analysis (FEA), static/dynamic loading, and structural optimization (experience)
  • Experience with FAA/EASA certification processes and industry standards (e.g., MIL-STD, ARP4754) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (experience)
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification (experience)
  • Experience with advanced materials like composites, additive manufacturing, or metamaterials (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-caliber team of structures engineers to meet aggressive growth targets
  • Define and implement engineering roadmaps for structures in new product development programs
  • Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, and trade studies for structural subsystems
  • Champion digital transformation initiatives, including model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and AI-driven analysis
  • Interface with customers and suppliers to translate requirements into robust structural solutions
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for structural failures or anomalies
  • Drive innovation in lightweighting and sustainability for next-gen aerospace platforms
