Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of estimators, providing guidance on best practices, process improvements, and performance development to ensure consistent delivery of accurate estimates.
  • Manage the complete estimation lifecycle, from initial project scoping and data collection to final bid preparation, incorporating risk assessments and cost optimizations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, project management, and sales teams to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and align estimates with project requirements and client specifications.
  • Develop and refine estimation models, templates, and tools using industry-standard software to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability for complex bids.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of estimates for quality assurance, identifying variances, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with Honeywell's standards and contractual obligations.
  • Analyze historical project data, market trends, and supplier costs to forecast accurately and support strategic decision-making for profitable project pursuits.
  • Present bid summaries and rationale to senior leadership and stakeholders, influencing go/no-go decisions and contributing to win strategies.

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in cost estimation, preferably in manufacturing, construction, EPC, or industrial projects (experience)
  • Proven track record of leading estimation teams and delivering accurate bids for large-scale projects (experience)
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle costing, including materials, labor, overheads, and risk factors (experience)
  • Experience with estimation software and tools in a technical or engineering environment (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline (experience)
  • Professional certifications such as ASPE, RICS, or PMP (experience)
  • 10+ years in estimation within aerospace, building automation, or energy sectors (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 5-10 estimators, assigning tasks, conducting performance reviews, and fostering skill development
  • Oversee preparation of detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors using advanced methodologies
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scopes, identify risks, and incorporate value engineering for optimal bids
  • Develop and maintain standardized estimation databases, benchmarks, and parametric models for efficiency
  • Perform variance analysis on awarded projects to refine future estimates and improve win rates
  • Ensure all estimates comply with Honeywell policies, industry regulations, and client requirements
  • Support tender responses by providing technical inputs and participating in bid review meetings
