Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust export compliance programs, including classification, licensing, and recordkeeping processes aligned with U.S. Department of Commerce and State Department requirements.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, audits, and gap analyses to identify vulnerabilities in export activities across Honeywell's product lines.
  • Provide expert guidance on export classifications (ECCNs, USML), license determinations, and end-user/end-use screenings using tools like SNAP-R and DECCS.
  • Lead training programs and awareness initiatives for employees to embed compliance into daily operations and prevent violations.
  • Investigate potential export violations, coordinate with legal counsel, and prepare voluntary disclosures to regulatory authorities when necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support international sales, mergers, acquisitions, and supply chain expansions while ensuring regulatory adherence.
  • Monitor evolving global trade regulations, sanctions, and geopolitical events to proactively update Honeywell's compliance strategies.

  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. export regulations including ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and Customs laws (experience)
  • Proven experience managing export licensing processes and interacting with U.S. government agencies (DDTC, BIS) (experience)
  • Strong analytical skills with experience conducting compliance audits and risk assessments (experience)
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional domestic travel (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Compliance, International Trade, or JD (experience)
  • Certified Export Compliance Professional (CESCP) or similar certification (experience)
  • Experience in the aerospace, defense, or manufacturing industries (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead comprehensive export compliance programs tailored to Honeywell's diverse product portfolio
  • Perform product classifications, jurisdiction determinations, and license applications using federal portals
  • Conduct internal audits, training sessions, and mock enforcement scenarios to ensure program effectiveness
  • Investigate and resolve compliance incidents, preparing reports and disclosures as required
  • Advise senior leadership on trade policy impacts from geopolitical changes and new regulations
  • Collaborate with global teams to integrate compliance into business processes like sales and procurement
  • Develop metrics and dashboards to track compliance performance and report to executive management
