Location: International (Various sites - primarily on-site)

Overview

As a Sr Field Service Technician, you will be the frontline expert providing advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair services for Honeywell's complex industrial systems and equipment worldwide. This on-site role demands travel to customer sites across international locations, ensuring maximum system uptime and performance. Reporting to the Field Service Manager, you will leverage your deep technical expertise to resolve critical issues, perform installations, and train end-users, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and Honeywell's reputation for reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs on Honeywell industrial control systems, HVAC equipment, sensors, and automation technologies at customer sites globally.
  • Conduct system installations, upgrades, and commissioning of new Honeywell products, ensuring compliance with international safety and regulatory standards.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic issues using specialized tools, schematics, and diagnostic software to minimize downtime.
  • Document service activities, generate detailed reports, and provide recommendations for system optimizations or spare parts inventory.
  • Train customer technicians and operators on proper equipment usage, maintenance procedures, and Honeywell best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, sales, and product support to resolve complex technical challenges and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to Honeywell's safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality standards during all field operations.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Field Service Technician in industrial automation, HVAC, or aerospace systems (experience)
  • Proven track record of troubleshooting and repairing complex electro-mechanical systems in field environments (experience)
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 70% and work on-site at customer facilities (experience)
  • Valid driver's license and passport; willingness to obtain necessary visas and certifications (experience)
  • Strong safety orientation with knowledge of OSHA, ISO, or equivalent international standards (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Honeywell product certifications (e.g., Building Controls, Aerospace Systems) (experience)
  • Experience with PLC programming, SCADA systems, or industrial IoT (experience)
  • Military or aviation maintenance background (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair faults in Honeywell control panels, sensors, actuators, and networked systems using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and proprietary software
  • Install and commission new equipment, including calibration, testing, and integration with existing infrastructure
  • Perform root cause analysis on system failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Maintain accurate service logs, update CRM systems, and prepare technical reports for internal and customer review
  • Mentor junior technicians and deliver on-site training sessions for clients
  • Coordinate with supply chain for parts procurement and manage field inventory efficiently
  • Identify opportunities for upselling Honeywell services or upgrades during site visits
