Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HSE strategies, policies, and programs that integrate seamlessly across manufacturing, engineering, and operational teams.
  • Conduct thorough audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify gaps and spearhead corrective actions for continuous improvement.
  • Champion safety culture initiatives, including training programs, behavioral observations, and incident investigation to achieve zero-incident targets.
  • Monitor and report on environmental performance metrics, driving reductions in waste, emissions, and energy use in line with EPA regulations and corporate sustainability objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to embed HSE into project designs, processes, and supplier management.
  • Lead emergency response planning, crisis management drills, and regulatory compliance submissions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field (experience)
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in HSE engineering within manufacturing, industrial, or aerospace sectors (experience)
  • Proven track record of ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, and other federal/state regulations (experience)
  • Experience conducting HSE audits, risk assessments, and root cause analyses (experience)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute HSE programs that drive measurable safety and environmental improvements (experience)
  • Strong knowledge of industrial hygiene, hazardous materials management, and sustainability practices (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, or related field (experience)
  • Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) (experience)
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma or sustainability frameworks like ISO 50001 (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and rollout of HSE strategies and programs to promote a proactive safety culture and regulatory compliance
  • Perform regular site audits, hazard identifications, and environmental impact assessments to pinpoint improvement opportunities
  • Develop and deliver targeted training programs on safety protocols, emergency response, and environmental best practices
  • Analyze incident data, conduct investigations, and implement corrective/preventive actions to reduce risks and emissions
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to integrate HSE into all business processes and capital projects
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for waste reduction, energy efficiency, and safety metrics, reporting to senior management
  • Manage regulatory filings, permit applications, and stakeholder communications to maintain full compliance
