Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle of generator technology development programs, from concept through certification and production.
  • Manage cross-functional engineering teams, including design, analysis, testing, and integration specialists.
  • Define technical roadmaps, allocate resources, and mitigate risks to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to align on requirements and innovate solutions.
  • Oversee prototyping, validation testing, and qualification of high-power density generators for aerospace platforms.
  • Drive continuous improvement in generator efficiency, thermal management, and electromagnetic compatibility.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as DO-160, AS9100, and FAA/EASA regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field (experience)
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering program management within aerospace or power systems industry (experience)
  • 5+ years leading development of electrical generators, motors, or power generation systems (experience)
  • Proven track record of delivering complex engineering programs from concept to production (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace certification processes (e.g., FAA, EASA) and industry standards (e.g., DO-160, MIL-STD) (experience)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets exceeding $5M and teams of 20+ engineers (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering (experience)
  • PMP certification or equivalent program management credential (experience)
  • Experience with hybrid-electric or more-electric aircraft architectures (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Direct the engineering strategy and execution for advanced generator technology programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams while fostering a culture of innovation and accountability
  • Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, and trade studies to optimize generator designs for power density and efficiency
  • Coordinate with supply chain partners to qualify components and scale manufacturing processes
  • Analyze test data from dynamometer and flight simulations to validate performance and drive design iterations
  • Interface with regulatory authorities and customers to secure certifications and resolve technical challenges
  • Champion digital engineering tools like model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and simulation for accelerated development
