Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project execution for alternative navigation systems, managing timelines, budgets, and resources to meet customer deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance on system architecture, algorithm development, and integration of sensors such as IMUs, magnetometers, and vision-based aids.
  • Conduct risk assessments, trade studies, and performance analyses to optimize navigation accuracy in challenging environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, hardware designers, and certification specialists, to resolve technical challenges.
  • Develop and validate prototypes, perform hardware-in-the-loop testing, and support flight testing for real-world verification.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to proposal development for new business opportunities in aerospace navigation.

  • 5+ years of experience in project engineering or systems engineering within aerospace or defense industries (experience)
  • Proven track record leading complex engineering projects from requirements definition to verification and validation (experience)
  • Strong understanding of navigation systems, including inertial navigation, GPS/INS integration, and alternative PNT (Positioning, Navigation, and Timing) technologies (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace standards such as DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, or MIL-STD-810 (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field (experience)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or INCOSE certification (experience)
  • Experience with real-time embedded systems, sensor fusion algorithms (e.g., Kalman filtering), or flight testing (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams to design, develop, and integrate alternative navigation systems for aerospace applications
  • Define system requirements, perform trade studies, and develop technical roadmaps aligned with customer needs and regulatory standards
  • Execute system-level testing, including simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and flight trials to validate performance in GPS-denied scenarios
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and risks using tools like MS Project or Jira, ensuring on-time delivery
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and certification authorities to resolve issues and achieve airworthiness certification
  • Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, innovation proposals, and technical publications
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers while contributing to Honeywell's pursuit of new aerospace navigation contracts
