Sr Sales Representative - C&I Energy Efficiency

Overview

As a Senior Sales Representative on our Energy & Sustainability team within the Honeywell Building Solutions organization, you will become a catalyst for change in the commercial and industrial (C&I) market. In this role, you will spearhead the sales of cutting-edge energy efficiency solutions and distributed energy resources (DER), driving facilities' infrastructure modernization and enhancing resiliency. Honeywell is a Fortune 100 leader in innovative technologies, and you'll play a pivotal role in helping customers achieve sustainability goals, reduce energy costs, and build resilient operations amid evolving regulatory and market demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect, qualify, and close complex sales opportunities with C&I clients, targeting energy efficiency projects such as HVAC optimization, lighting retrofits, and DER integrations like solar, battery storage, and microgrids.
  • Conduct needs assessments and energy audits to develop customized solution proposals that deliver measurable ROI and sustainability outcomes.
  • Build and nurture strategic relationships with C-level executives, facility managers, and sustainability officers in target industries including manufacturing, data centers, healthcare, and logistics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and channel partners, to design and deliver turnkey energy solutions.
  • Drive pipeline growth through market analysis, competitive intelligence, and participation in industry events, trade shows, and webinars.
  • Negotiate contracts, manage sales cycles from lead generation to project handover, and ensure customer satisfaction for repeat business and referrals.
  • Leverage Honeywell's digital tools, such as Forge platform analytics, to demonstrate solution value and forecast energy savings.

  • Track record of exceeding sales quotas in complex, high-value deals (e.g., $500K+ transactions) (experience)
  • Deep understanding of commercial and industrial energy challenges, including regulations like ENERGY STAR and utility incentives (experience)
  • Proficiency in CRM tools such as Salesforce and energy modeling software (experience)
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% within the United States (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Energy Management, Sustainability, or MBA (experience)
  • Professional certifications such as CEM (Certified Energy Manager), LEED AP, or sales credentials from ASHRAE/IES (experience)
  • Experience selling DER solutions (e.g., solar PV, energy storage) or IoT-enabled building controls (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in C&I markets by analyzing energy consumption data and client pain points
  • Develop and present compelling value propositions for energy efficiency solutions, quantifying savings and resiliency benefits
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions from concept through implementation and performance verification
  • Negotiate and close multi-year contracts with Fortune 500 clients, managing RFPs and competitive bids
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and policy changes to refine sales strategies and expand market share
  • Provide post-sale support, including solution optimization and upselling advanced analytics services
  • Report sales metrics, forecasts, and customer feedback to senior leadership to inform product roadmap
